Must Add Films to Your 31 Days of Halloween Playlist!

31 Days of Halloween is officially underway! It's that time of the year again and everyone is in the mood for frights, scares and enjoys the blood and gore a little more. There is something about the Fall air that makes this the most wonderful time of the year. The breeze, the turning of leaves, the smell of pumpkin spice and more importantly, the scary movies.

I wanted to toss my hat into the ring for films to add to your #31DaysofHalloween watchlist. I've complied some of our films, that are FREE on Youtube and you can watch them NOW!

The 1st on our list is our multi award winning film, baggage. Baggage was a great film to work on and was, honestly, my homage to Alfred Hitchcock. I wanted to create the feeling of reliving an episode of The Twilight Zone. 

The story follows Benjamin. On the outside, Benjamin seems normal. He heads to work, comes home to his significant other and tries to blend in with the rest of society. Is he hiding something? What is normal? What is Benjamin's personal baggage?

This film was directed by Jeremiah Kipp and was filmed in Long Branch, New Jersey. This film has been screened all over the world and won several awards - Best Short Film, Best Actor, Best Director and Villain of 2014 to name a few. Take a few minutes and check out this short.

Up next is the hyper surreal film, Rabbit Hole. Described as a blend of the classic Wizard of Oz and the iconic Texas Chainsaw Massacre, this tale is something straight out of a drug induced dream. Rabbit Hole, while a metaphor to many, can take on a very real meaning to others. Dottie awakens to find her daughter is missing, her panic and worst nightmares are brought to reality.


An ongoing pace of dread and questions close in, over your shoulder with nothing but uncertainty and nervousness as each minute passes. This is our VHS edit, designed to create the feeling this could be found in anyones attic, with a "taped from late night TV" feel.





Last but not least, our last recommendation is the film that started it all for us, No Clowning Around. In reality, I was struggling with real life depression. This was a way for me to express my thoughts and what I was going through, emotionally. My feeling of being lost. When you watch this, know that Mumbles the Clown, is me. I look at this as a sad story, a story that is so personal but many look at Mumbles as a hero. I appreciate that. I hope you enjoy!

Mumbles and Looney Will Haunt You!!!

"Hey kids..it's your old pal Mumbles the Clown. Seems I will be showing up at the Haunted Prison of Burlington County in Mt Holly, NJ. Stop by and see me...let's be best friends."

Mumbles the Clown, who garnered notoriety from the Independent Horror Film "No Clowning Around", will be making a few appearance at the Haunted Prison in Mt. Holly, NJ. Mumbles, along with his new gal pal, Looney, will be in the Funhouse of Fear.

Mumbles will be armed with the dreaded "Rubber Chicken" while Looney, luckily will be restrained. Not much is known about Looney except for Mumbles and her have some history...but we've been told, more of the back history will be made public as we get into October. 


Rob Dimension had this to say; "I've always wanted to work in a Halloween Haunt. I've been involved with a few the last couple of years but The Prison group have been very supportive of us and we've become friends with some of the owners and people who work there. It seems like a great learning tool for me, as I'm always looking for new ways to push the envelop in filmmaking, this is a good measuring stick to see what is scary."

How hard can it be to make a movie? Kevin Kangas spills the beans on FOC 2

Since we are all huge fans of horror, chances are if you often check out this blog...you are, we have all said "I bet I could make a better movie". I know I have, up until the last 3 months ago I had been on both sides of the camera, but hadn't really understood all the problems that come along with shooting.

My experience stems from writing, helping produce and being on camera for numerous Professional Wrestling events, plus even hosting and commentating for some shows. It was always where things were pre-set or moved while I was away from the area...I would just come in, do what I had to and move on.

Once we started Late Night at the Horror Hotel and we (John, the co-host, Matt our producer and Me) had to endure every little set change, numerous takes, edits, lighting, plus every little factor that plays a part in making things harder, it really shows you how hard the entire process really is. Luckily Matt has a lot of experience and John and I are able to learn a lot from him.

Kevin Kangas, whom I think of as a friend, has been one of my first contacts within the Horror community. He has recently begun to document the troubles that he went through when filming Fear of Clowns 2. I reached out to Kevin probably back in 2004-2005 when his film, Fear of Clowns was released. At my retail store, I owned a comic store for a while, we sold a Limited Edition version of the movie, autographed by Kevin and the star Mark Lassise, who plays Shivers the Clown. I always wanted to support Independent film makers and I have done the same for several people. Hell, my even Limited Edition Fear of Clowns 2 is numbered (I got #20).

This blog is a must read for anyone deciding that they can "do it better". I say that in the most sincere way possible, hey, I have script ideas running in my head and would still love to make some "movie magic". Kevin details how hard it is to deal with location troubles, simple tasks and even how hard it can be to make offers to potential actors. Really fun, crazy read and I recommend it to anyone...even for the sake of behind the scenes info.

I will save my review of the films for a later date - look for the Fear of Clowns 2 poster in Episodes 3 and 4 - it's hanging on the wall in the background of our movie review segment :)
