The Extreme Odd Couple Comedy Podcast #1 - "....Is this thing on?"

The Extreme Odd Couple Comedy Podcast #1
"...is this thing on?"

Rob Dimension is working up the nerve to make his journey into the World of Stand-Up Comedy. Being a life long fan of comedy, even having the chance to write some, Dimension has finally been pushed...but the pusher is none other than, Professional Wrestling star, Steve Corino (who is is also working in his own groove in Comedy).

On the 1st episode, Dimension and Corino discuss their bitter fued that runs ranpant on Twitter, where it started and where it will go. You also get a chance to become part of the nonsense. They also share their favorite tweets from the last 3 days.

This Podcast is not for everyone and don't worry, Dimension's Horrible Podcast isn't going anywhere, we just thought it might be fun to see where this train is heading...(probably going to wreck).

Video Blog for the week of August 15th, 2011 - Looking at Shot on Video Horror

Rob Dimension's latest Video Blog
August 15th, 2011
Looking at Horror Films, Shot on Video

This week, Rob Dimension is back expressing his love for the Shot on Video Horror films from the 80's. Films like Video Violence 1 & 2, Cannibal Campout and even the 1982 film that was given an official Theatrical release "BoardingHouse".

This time around, Rob enlists his Wife Kim, who is not so amused nor a very big fan of Rob's passion. Things go downhill quickly once the fight escalates...this is a must see to believe. Plus, Dimension promotes his upcoming appearance (Aug. 19-21) at Monster-Mania Con in Cherry Hill, NJ and the August 25th PA/NJ Horror Club meeting.

If you want to check out some of these films, like Gary P. Cohen's Video Violence, make sure you head over to http://www.alternativecinema.com/

Leslie Neilsen passes away

The Man Knew Comedy
by- Rob Dimension

Rarely do I post when someone dies, it has nothing to do with respect issues, it's more about the social bandwagon. When we lose someone that is important, we all moarn differently, I guess for me...it's normally silence. This is the exception....this is a guy that "got it".

Last night I got news, like everyone else, that Leslie Neilsen had passes away. When I say he "Got it"...maybe it's an insider tern from my wrestling past, meaning this guy has what it takes...he knows what others don't. He has a joke..he's telling it and your not in on it. For me, that's genuis.

Leslie Neilsen didn't just contribute to comedy, the man did great work in westerns, science fiction, horror and more. In some of my favorites like Forbidden Planet and The Day of Animals, plus some really great roles in Creepshow and Airplane, but for me....Police Squad was where the man shined.

Police Squad was so far ahead of it's time....about 20 years. In today's world, Police Squad would be a huge hit. The simple slapstick humor, the sight gags...just fantastic. His deadpan delivery just killed. I just felt the urge to write a few notes about what a loss we suffered....he will be surely missed...He will be missed and don't call him Shirley.

Local Philadelphia Film Maker says - "Camp + Horror = WIN"

Late Night at the Horror Hotel makes a Sickening Thud
by Rob Dimension

A few months ago, through some mutual friends, I was "wised up" to a local Philadelphia film making crew that was making some waves amongst the Underground. With titles like:

"DAISY DERKINS, DOGSITTER OF THE DAMNED!"
"EVIL BREW"
"Battle Nun: Key To Heaven"
"THE HALF-LIFE HORROR FROM HELL or IRRADIATED SATAN ROCKS THE WORLD!"
"UNWINDING"
"EMBALMO!"

I had a feeling I was gonna like these guys. I hooked up with Wedge Wegman and her crew through emails and saw her last week at Monster Mania. She is a Punk Rocker, with a no nonsense attitude, plus she knows what vision she has in front of her and I think we were instant BFF's...okay maybe not...hahaha.

Their latest film, EMBALMO!, will be screened at the Project Twenty1 film festival during the weekend of October 1-3, 2010 and we are wishing them the BEST of luck. Okay, so enough of my babbling on...here is what she sent me today:

There is little else in the world that goes as well together as campy horror and sketch comedy, a fact that is proven once again by John Cannon, Rob Dimension, and Pigamortis on the Late Night Horror Hotel. Just after I was introduced to Dimension, he sent me two episodes of this mysterious show I'd never seen. With great trepidation, I put on an episode one night. And I was HOOKED! After greedily watching the second episode on the disk I found myself wanting more.

Dimension and Cannon play off each other quite well during the breaks in the films. Where some horror shows cut into the film at inappropriate times, these two seem to interject their dorky/ditzy humour at just the right moment. PLUS, they pull out the prop gags, something that I absolutely adore. (Cheese-STAKE, anyone??!? PRICELESS!)

The most impressive thing about the show? The hosts are down-to-earth, approachable guys who TRULY love this genre. This isn't about money or fame, folks. This is DIY fandom at it's best, and the Late Night Horror Hotel delivers a WIN!!

Another show review is in - Improv Instructor "Digs" the show

Dan Stabb is 1/2 of the Improv Comedy duo known as CUBED. CUBED is a workplace-comedy improv that relies heavily on audience suggestions and participation throughout the show. CUBED’s highly interactive performance allows the audience to write memos, provide their company’s name/service, and even become part of the show themselves.

Dan wanted to see what all the fuss was about, thinking we had met our match...we handed over a few episodes...a bit hesitant though. Unsure of our ability to "Win" Stabb over, we all waited patiently for a reply, to our surprise.....this is what Dan sent us:
"Finally got a chance to watch it -- I definitely dig it. The interplay between you and John is really fun. Besides, I'm always a sucker for a good laugh track. The humor really matches the campiness of the movies (and I totally mean that as a compliment). Really fun stuff, man."

So there you have it...another positive review. I guess my question is - What are you waiting for? Why aren't you ordering yet? Look to the right side of the page, see the store...click it and go buy!!!

For more info and upcoming performance dates for CUBED visi:

Daniel Wickwire, the man behind the fantastic review site is equally excited with the joint venture. Wickwire will also be providing reviews for the Late Night at the Horror Hotel site, up first is "Day of the Dead", the classic George A Romero cult zombie film.

Rob Dimension had this to say "Both, John and I are huge Kaiju fans so for us, this was a simple request. I reached out to Dan and he was just as happy. Our review will feature both video and written. Sometimes you just can't get enough on video." Dimension also said that the first film they will review is "Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster", that should be a fun one.

Late Night Reviews The Italian Zombies Movies Pts. 1 & 2

A few weeks ago, John and I were sent sent the Zombie Italian Movies (Zombie Atrocity and Zombie Abomination) by film makers Thomas Berdinski, included with a napkin, script, clips, screener and actual copy of the film. He went above an beyond the call of duty, but we are glad he did.

Paying homage to the great Italian Zombie film makers from the late 70's to early 80's, Berdinski really tries to give back to the likes of Lucio Fulci and Umberto Lenzi with a light hearted gorefest. With a modest budget, Berdinski uses lighting, classic Zombie make up and good ole' goofy humor to pull off a great addition to any Zombie lover's dvd collection.

I learned all kinds of things from these films...like Urine is sterile, (great to know early in the morning if I have a cut), usually if they are wearing a wrestling mask, they are probably a perv and I even learned some Woman's Lib. stuff (it mostly went in one ear and out the other). Plenty of gore, plenty of laughs and even some story in this 2 movie Zombified Epic. Berdinski should be given something like a Zombie Rotting Brain (made up award for really fun Zombie films...) for these two. Very fun films to sit and enjoy with some friends!

We give you a video review, check it out and after wards, go buy the film - Wanna see it? Wanna share the excitement? Wanna be drenched in blood and gore? Ok - then go visit the site you fiend! italianzombiemovie.
